Stops, in order

The day

  1. photo with care

Zion-Mt Carmel Tunnel, DON'T TAKE IT Caution

The 23-foot Airstream is wider than the 7'10" limit and taller than the 11'4" limit. Either pay for an NPS escort (timed, $15) OR, better, bypass entirely via Hurricane (US-89 south → I-15 south → SR-9 east). The bypass adds ~65 mi but spares the wait + risk.

  2. scenic

    Red Canyon (Dixie National Forest)

Drive-through red-rock canyon on US-89 south of Bryce. Pull out at the visitor center for a 15-min walk.

  3. charge

    St. George Supercharger

The bypass routes you here naturally. Lunch and top off.

  4. sleep

    Zion River Resort

Set up. Park shuttle from Springdale tomorrow morning if you want the canyon floor without the truck.

Charging plan

Where the electrons come from

  • Tesla V3

    St. George Supercharger

12+ stalls. Lunch + full charge before climbing back east into Zion.

  • EVgo

    Hurricane UT, EVgo (backup)

Use if St. George stalls are full. Lower kW, sufficient for a 30-min top-up.
